Alissia is a funk, R&B, and pop artist and producer with a jazz-soul streak, working out of New York. Her debut as a bassist came on YouTube, where bass performance videos caught the attention of Prince and Bootsy Collins. That early notice opened the door to her self-produced funk EP Back to the Funkture, now found on YouTube, and on to her 2025 release Hypnotic Night.
Alissia studied bass at Berklee College of Music and graduated in 2014. In 2017 she opened her own New York studio, The Spaceship, and the same year handled executive production on Bootsy Collins's album World Wide Funk.
Her production and songwriting on Mary J. Blige's Good Morning Gorgeous, including the track Heart Without the Heartbreak, brought GRAMMY nominations for Album of the Year in 2023. In November 2024 she was nominated for Producer of the Year (Non-Classical), only the ninth woman ever nominated in that category. She also leads the 14-piece funk project Alissia & The Funketeers. With a deep funk catalog and a live band built for the stage, she is a strong fit for festival and fair lineups, college events, corporate dates, and private engagements.
