Atlus is the stage name of Sean Haywood, a singer-songwriter who writes at the meeting point of country, pop, rock and hip-hop. He laid out that mix on My World in 2018, tightened it on Low Expectations in 2021, and carried it into High Expectations in 2023, with his releases running through Stoney Creek Records. The country label sits loosely on him, and that is the point: the rap and pop-trap edges are part of the writing, not decoration on top of it.
He did not come up in Nashville. Haywood was born in Denver on August 7, 1992, and moved to Nashville later, bringing a Colorado songwriter's outsider angle to a town that measures everyone against its own tradition.
The credentials arrived quickly. Billboard named him a Country Rookie of the Month, and the RIAA certified one of his tracks Platinum. On stage he has worked both festival grounds and club rooms, from Bourbon & Beyond to First Avenue in Minneapolis, The Parish at House of Blues Anaheim, and The Moroccan Lounge. That range makes him a practical fit for college programming, fair and festival lineups, casino stages, corporate dates, and private events looking for a country act that reaches a younger, genre-fluid crowd.
