Chanel West Coast is the stage name of Chelsea Chanel Dudley, a rapper, singer, and television personality who built a following long before she built a discography. She got her start in 2009 on MTV's Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory, then spent over a decade as the co-host of Ridiculousness, MTV's biggest clip show, before it wrapped after 46 seasons in 2025. She turned that platform into a real music career under Lil Wayne's mentorship, signing to Young Money in 2013 and releasing the mixtapes Now You Know (2013) and Waves (2015), followed by the full-length albums America's Sweetheart (2020) and California State of Mind (2024). In 2025 she pivoted again with "Lil Bit Country," a country-pop debut single built around her own Southern California upbringing.
She grew up around music, not toward it. Born in Los Angeles to a DJ father who worked New York clubs, Dudley split her childhood between coasts and started rapping as a teenager, drawing early influence from 50 Cent and Mobb Deep. That early exposure carried her into reality TV first and music second, an unusual order that still shapes her genre-hopping catalog today.
Chanel West Coast has recorded with Snoop Dogg, French Montana, Ty Dolla $ign, and Robin Thicke, and fronted her own MTV docuseries, The West Coast Hustle, in 2024. With over a decade of built-in name recognition from Ridiculousness and a catalog that now spans hip-hop, pop, and country, she draws college crowds who grew up watching her on MTV, festival and fair audiences, and private and corporate clients looking for a headliner with genuine crossover reach.
