Dave Matthews Band plays rock shaped by jam band improvisation and jazz rock phrasing. The RCA Records group put out Away From the World in 2012, returned with Come Tomorrow in 2018, and released Walk Around The Moon in 2023, three records spread across a run that has been going since 1991.

The band started in a bar. Dave Matthews, the South African-born singer and guitarist, formed the group in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1991, drawing on the local music community he knew from Miller's, the Charlottesville bar where he worked and first connected with the players who would become his band.

Those players were Carter Beauford, Stefan Lessard, LeRoi Moore and Boyd Tinsley, with Peter Griesar on keyboards in the earliest lineup. The group won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for "So Much to Say," took Best Live Act at the 2000 My VH1 Music Awards, and has been recognized by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On the road they have filled rooms like Xfinity Theatre, The Pavilion at Star Lake and Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, which makes them a proven draw for festival and fair lineups, college events, corporate dates and private engagements.
