Day We Ran is a guitar-driven rock band from Lennox Head, New South Wales, working a lane of indie surf rock built on layered vocal harmonies with a country streak running underneath. Their catalog with Retreat Records includes Foaming and Piha Lounging, both released in 2023, along with Snake With a Bone. The band has built a following across Australia and New Zealand.
The harmonies come from a lineup where nearly everyone sings. Matthew Lough handles lead vocals and guitars, Daniel Lough plays bass and sings, and Michael Lough adds acoustic guitar and vocals, with Tone Cullen on drums.
At home they have played Australia's Lost Paradise festival, and the band has carried the same set well past the region, with dates at The Lower Third in London, Bowery Ballroom in New York, and Songbyrd Music House in Washington, D.C.
