FIG is the recording name of Fay Liew, a New York City indie pop and R&B artist. Her debut album, BUD, arrived on November 3, 2022, and she followed it two years later with FITS, released November 8, 2024. She records through Cob Stand LLC, and across both albums she works the seam between indie pop songwriting and R&B and soul phrasing rather than committing to one lane.
Her route to that sound crossed several countries. Born in the Philippines, raised in Singapore, and of Malaysian heritage, she began developing her craft by writing her own songs while still in high school in Singapore, then kept writing and collaborating in college after the move to New York. The catalog has grown steadily since, from early tracks like "Splinter" through the single "Questionnaire."
That body of work has put her onstage at Webster Hall, and the songs translate to a room built for listening as easily as they do to a festival crowd. She is a natural fit for college programming, corporate events, festival lineups, and private events.
