Girl Ultra is the solo project of Mariana de Miguel, a Mexico City singer whose R&B en español leans alternative and, lately, toward house. Her albums track that drift plainly enough: El sur in 2022 sat in the smoky, Spanish-language R&B she built her name on, and by Tomás in 2025 the productions were sharper and closer to the dance floor. Her recent work has come out through Big Dada.
She was a hometown signing before she was anything else. Born in Mexico City, de Miguel was picked up by Monterrey's Finesse Records in 2016, took the name Girl Ultra, and released her debut Boys EP the following year. She has been recording and performing under that name since 2017.
The live and session record travels well past Mexico. She has cut a Tiny Desk performance, a KEXP session, and a Colors session in Berlin, played the Boiler Room circuit that shaped the CDMX scene she came out of, and appeared at Lollapalooza Argentina, with hometown dates at rooms like Foro Puebla and C3 Stage. That mix of streaming-native audience and festival experience makes her a strong fit for college programming, festival and fair lineups, corporate stages, and private events.
