Jacques Greene is Philippe Aubin-Dionne, a Montreal producer who has spent well over a decade working the seam where house meets future garage. He began releasing tracks in 2010, and the two records that mark the arc are Feel Infinite in 2017 and Dawn Chorus, which arrived two years later in 2019. His music has come out through LuckyMe and Vase, and the tags that follow him, acid house, club, garage, house, say less about a lane than about a producer who keeps moving between them.
He did not start out as Jacques Greene. A few early tracks went out under the name Hovatron before he settled on the moniker that stuck, and everything since has been built under it: singles, mixes, remix sets, and the FACT Mix he turned in back in 2014. It is the career of someone who came up through club music rather than around it, and the albums have never lost the feel of tracks made to be played out.
Verses GT turns up in the credits beside him. On stage he is at home in rooms built for sound, whether that is the Society for Arts and Technology on his own turf in Montreal or a club-first floor like Flash. That combination, an album artist who is still fundamentally a dance-floor producer, makes him a clear fit for late-night festival programming, campus events, and private engagements where the room is meant to move.
