Jade Bird is a singer-songwriter whose work runs through Americana and indie folk without settling for long in either. She introduced herself with Something American in 2017 and followed it with her self-titled album in 2019, recording for Glassnote Music LLC. The writing has stayed closer to folk than to pop, even as the arrangements have not.
She came by the restlessness honestly. Born into an Army family, Bird spent a childhood moving between England, Germany, Wales and the United States. She began writing songs in her early teens and, at 16, moved to London to work the city's folk circuit.
"Lottery" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart in 2018, and Bird has toured steadily across the UK and the United States in the years since. Her most recent album, Who Wants to Talk About Love?, arrived in 2025. She is a straightforward booking for college programming, fair and festival stages, corporate dates, and private events.
