Jagged Edge has been making R&B since 1995, a vocal group whose contemporary R&B sits easily next to soul and hip hop. A Jagged Era, released on So So Def Recordings in 1997, opened a catalog that has not stopped moving since. J.E. Heartbreak is the album the group is still measured by, and rather than leave that title behind, Jagged Edge went back to it with JE Heartbreak II in 2014 before adding A Jagged Love Story in 2020, more than twenty years after the debut.
Atlanta made this group. It formed there in the mid-1990s, and by 1997 So So Def Recordings had signed it and put out the first album the same year, so the earliest chapter of the group's story and the city it came from are the same chapter.
The four voices belong to Brandon Casey, Brian Casey, Kyle Norman and Richard Wingo. In 2001 the awards arrived together: two Soul Train Awards, Best R&B/Soul Album by a Group, Band, or Duo for J.E. Heartbreak and Best R&B/Soul Single by a Male Group for "Let's Get Married," plus the Billboard R&B Artist-Duo/Group Award. The rooms have grown to match, from State Farm Arena to EagleBank Arena at George Mason University, which makes Jagged Edge a straightforward fit for festival and fair lineups, college and university events, casino and corporate dates, and private engagements.
