JJ Hairston is an American gospel musician, songwriter, and choir director. He is the leader of the choir, JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise, which has become one of the most popular and influential gospel choirs in the United States.
Hairston grew up in a family of musicians and began singing and playing music at an early age. He started his career as a member of the gospel group, Steve Dalton & The Leviticus Singers, before forming his own group, Youthful Praise, in the 1990s.
JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise have released numerous albums and singles over the years, including "You Deserve It" (2017), which won the Grammy Award for Best Gospel Performance/Song.
