Jo Dee Messina is an American country music singer and songwriter. She was born on August 25, 1970, in Framingham, Massachusetts, and raised in nearby Holliston.
Messina began performing in local clubs and eventually moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in country music. She signed a recording contract with Curb Records in 1995 and released her debut album, "Jo Dee Messina", the following year. The album produced several hit singles, including "Bye Bye", "Stand Beside Me", and "I'm Alright", which became her first No. 1 hit on the country charts.
Messina's subsequent albums, including "I'm Alright", "Burn", and "Delicious Surprise", also produced multiple hit singles and earned her critical acclaim and commercial success. Her music is characterized by its catchy melodies, upbeat tempo, and relatable lyrics that often deal with love, heartbreak, and self-empowerment.
