Jocelyn Brown is an American R&B and dance music singer, songwriter, and actress. She was born on November 25, 1950 in Kinston, North Carolina, USA. Brown began her career as a backup singer for various artists including Bob Dylan, Luther Vandross, and John Lennon.
In 1984, Brown released her debut solo album, "Somebody Else's Guy", which became a hit single and reached the top 10 on the US R&B chart. She followed this success with several other albums, including "One from the Heart" (1987) and "True Praises" (1998). Brown's music is known for its blend of R&B, funk, and disco influences.
Brown has also appeared in a number of musicals and stage productions, including "Hair" and "Two Gentlemen of Verona", as well as TV shows and movies such as "Tales from the Darkside" and "The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland".
