Joey Valence & Brae are a hip-hop duo whose boom bap drums and rap rock edge have carried them from a single dropped online to a steady run of albums. "Crank It Up" arrived in April 2021 and went viral. PUNK TACTICS followed in 2023, NO HANDS in 2024, and HYPERYOUTH in 2025, all released through their own JVB Records.
They started as classmates. Joseph Bertolino and Braedan Lugue met during their freshman year in 2018 in State College, Pennsylvania, and were writing together for three years before that first single landed.
Bertolino performs as Joey Valence and Lugue as Brae, and the two have moved from festival stages to club dates including Magazzini Generali, Muffathalle, and Flex. The result is a live act built for college crowds and festival lineups, and one that carries just as well into corporate events, fairs, and private events.
