Joss Stone is an English soul singer, born Joscelyn Eve Stoker on 11 April 1987 in Dover, Kent. Her recorded work stretches from The Soul Sessions Volume 2 in 2012 through Water for Your Soul in 2015 and on to Never Forget My Love in 2022, a catalog she now issues through Stoned Records.
She came out of Dover with a voice modeled on the early Motown singers, and that instinct has held. It runs through the blue-eyed soul she is best known for and just as easily through blues, jazz, neo soul and pop, which is why no two of her records sit in quite the same place.
The credentials are there in the trophy case: two BRIT Awards, plus a Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group for "Family Affair," from Different Strokes by Different Folks.
