Justine Skye is a Brooklyn R&B singer working at the alternative and contemporary edges of the genre, with a dance-leaning, hip-hop-influenced take on R&B and soul. She introduced herself with the 2013 EP Everyday Living, kept the releases coming through 8 Ounces in 2016, and pulled the sound into focus on ULTRAVIOLET in 2018. That album reached No. 16 on Billboard's R&B Album Sales chart and No. 18 on the US R&B Sales chart.
She had the audience before she had the deal. Born Justine Indira Skyers, Skye turned early Tumblr attention and homemade R&B songs into a signing with Atlantic Records, and by 2013 the song "Everyday Living" had made BET's 106 & Park lineup.
Now recording under WMG, Skye has taken the material to stages that match it, from Baby's All Right in her home borough to The Other Festival, a women-focused creative event. She is a live R&B act suited to college programming, corporate events, festival and fair lineups, and private engagements.
