Kashus Culpepper is a solo singer-songwriter from Alexander City, Alabama, working the seam where country, soul, blues, and gospel meet. He put out his first official single in 2024, and the songs that followed that year, among them "Who Hurt You" and "Out Of My Mind," set the terms for everything since. He records for Big Loud / Mercury Records, with Act I due in 2026.
He learned to sing in church. Culpepper began performing as a singer-guitarist around 2020, then spent the years before Nashville playing covers and originals five nights a week across Alabama and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. That is a working musician's apprenticeship, and he arrived in Nashville with the repertoire to prove it.
The industry caught up fast in 2025: GRAMMY.com named him an Artist to Watch, Zane Lowe placed him on Apple Music's 25 Artists for '25 list, and he joined the Opry NextStage Class of 2025. On the road he has supported Charley Crockett's $10 Cowboy Tour and opened amphitheater dates for NEEDTOBREATHE, with stage credits including Hersheypark Stadium and The Boathouse. A voice built in church and sharpened over five nights a week travels well, which makes him a strong fit for festival and fair lineups, college programming, corporate stages, and private events.
