Keri Hilson is a contemporary R&B and pop artist who arrived fully formed. She came up in the group tradition. Born in Decatur, Georgia, in December 1982, Hilson found music early through her family and honed it singing in vocal groups as a teenager, the kind of apprenticeship that teaches a singer how to blend before she learns how to lead.
That craft carried her through the Zone 4, Mosley Music Group, and Interscope machinery and earned her the BET Award for Best New Artist.
