King Krule is the solo project of English musician Archy Ivan Marshall, a London artist working at the meeting point of indie rock, jazz fusion, hip hop and electronic music. He introduced the project properly with 6 Feet Beneath The Moon in 2013, opened it up on The OOZ in 2017, and pushed it further on Man Alive! in 2020. His records come out through Matador.
Marshall started young. He was putting out music in 2010 under the name Zoo Kid, then took the King Krule name in 2011, several years before his first album under it landed. The catalog has kept growing since, across singles, EPs and full-lengths, but the voice at the center of it has stayed the same one he built in his teens.
The OOZ earned Marshall a nomination for the 2017 Mercury Prize, the clearest outside signal of how far the project had traveled in four years. On stage the material fills rooms like the Granada Theater, where the loose, jazz-leaning arrangements have space to move. That makes King Krule a strong fit for college programming, festival and theater stages, corporate events and private engagements looking for a distinctive headliner rather than a familiar one.
