Kodie Shane is a rapper and singer whose work spans hip hop, R&B, and queer music. Born Kodie Williams and known professionally as Kodie Shane, she signed with Epic Records in 2016 after first working as a songwriter for other artists. Big Trouble Little Jupiter arrived in 2017 and Young HeartThrob in 2018, and by the time Love Roulette landed in 2022 she was releasing through Parachute Worldwide.
She started early. Born in Atlanta and raised in Chicago in a musical family, Shane was writing lyrics by around age 12, and she built her craft supplying songs for other artists before her own records carried her name.
Shane works as a solo artist, performing under the name she has recorded with since her Epic signing, with live dates in rooms including The Sultan Room and Aisle 5. That makes her a practical fit for college programming, festival and fair lineups, corporate dates, and private events.
