Kygo, born Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, is a Norwegian DJ, producer and songwriter who grew up in Bergen. He broke through internationally in 2014 with his debut single "Firestone," and has built a catalog that runs from the crossover success of "Stole the Show" through recent full-length work including For Life and Chasing Paradise. His sound moves across deep house, downtempo, and dance-pop.
That breakthrough turned quickly into recognition at home. In 2015 he won Spellemannprisen for both Song of the Year and Artist of the Year, the latter for "Stole the Show," and he was nominated in the years that followed, from pop soloist in 2016 through Song of the Year across 2016 to 2020. In 2019 he took home the P3-prisen at P3 Gull.
Working through labels including his own Palm Tree Records, Ultra Records, and Sony Music, Kygo has taken the material to major stages, from Red Bull Arena to an eight-Sunday residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza. That track record makes him a sought-after live act for festival lineups, college events, corporate functions, and private engagements.
