Laci Kaye Booth is a country singer-songwriter working the space where Texas country meets Americana, a dreamy country that pulls on country pop without leaving the traditional side behind. She released Something New in 2017, arrived with the self-titled Laci Kaye Booth in 2021, and by the time The Loneliest Girl In The World came out in 2024 she was recording for UMG.
She had country music in the house before she had a career in it. Booth grew up in East Texas with a father who is a Texas country artist himself, then reached a national audience as a Top 5 finalist on Season 17 of American Idol. She moved to Nashville afterward to concentrate on writing and on country music, which is the part of the job the show does not hand anyone.
Nashville has since given her both ends of its stage spectrum: a set at the Bluebird Cafe, the listening room where the song has to carry itself, and a reported debut at the Grand Ole Opry. Touring has also put her in rooms the scale of North Charleston Coliseum.
