Lewis Capaldi is a Scottish singer, musician, and songwriter working in pop and blue-eyed soul. His 2018 EP BREACH set up the 2019 breakthrough album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, which included "Before You Go," and he returned in 2023 with Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent. He records for UMG.
Capaldi was born in Glasgow and came to prominence from Whitburn, West Lothian. Early recognition arrived fast: he took Best Acoustic Act at the 2017 Scottish Alternative Music Awards and Best Breakthrough Artist at the 2017 Scottish Music Awards, then earned a nomination for the Brit Awards Critics' Choice Award in 2019.
