Lexi Jayde has never moved her songwriting far from the diary it came out of. The Los Angeles solo artist, born Alexis Jayde Burnett, works in indie and bedroom pop, and her titles carry most of the story: a teenage diary in 2021, then closer to closure the year after, two records that travel from the notebook stage of a feeling to the far side of it.
She was writing songs before she was old enough to shop them. Jayde began composing at a young age and released her earliest indie pop singles on her own, Oldest Teenager among them, with no label attached. The indie label APG signed her out of that self-made run.
More than thirty releases sit under her name now, and SME is her recording home, but the shape of the work has held: one writer, her own material, conversational pop that stretches across indie, alternative and bedroom variations without losing its voice. That makes her an uncomplicated booking for college programming boards, festival and fair lineups, corporate dates, and private events looking for a young pop songwriter who can carry a set by herself.
