Liniker is a Black trans singer-songwriter from Araraquara, Brazil, whose work moves through MPB, tropicalia and Brazilian pop. Liniker no Cultura Livre put that voice on record in 2016. Indigo Borboleta Anil, released in 2021, is the album the awards followed, and CAJU arrived in 2024 on BREU ENTERTAINMENT.
Araraquara is where it starts. Liniker de Barros Ferreira Campos built the project there, alongside the group Liniker e os Caramelows, and the tropicalia and latin rock of that earlier work still run under the newer records.
Indigo Borboleta Anil took the Grammy Latino de Melhor Álbum de Música Popular Brasileira in 2022, after recognition at the WME Awards for Álbum in 2021. The live show has carried from Allianz Parque to Salle Pleyel and the Elbphilharmonie, a range that makes Liniker a sought-after act for festival lineups, college programming, performing arts center seasons and private engagements.
