Lloyd Banks is a Queens rapper and founding member of G-Unit, known for razor-sharp punchlines and one of the most respected pens of the 2000s mixtape era. His 2004 solo debut, The Hunger for More, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, went Platinum and produced "Karma" and the Top 10 hit "On Fire," which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Solo Performance. After Rotten Apple in 2006, he won critics back with 2010's H.F.M. 2 and the hit "Beamer, Benz, or Bentley."
He came up with his childhood friends. Born Christopher Lloyd and raised in Jamaica, Queens, Banks formed G-Unit in 1999 with 50 Cent and Tony Yayo, and the group's debut album, Beg for Mercy, went double Platinum. Along the way he was named Mixtape Artist of the Year at the 2004 Mixtape Awards.
After an 11-year album gap, Banks returned independently with The Course of the Inevitable in 2021 to strong reviews and built it into a trilogy through 2023. With hits fans know word for word and a catalog spanning two decades, he is a strong fit for college events, festival and fair lineups, casinos, corporate events and private shows.
