Local Natives are an indie rock band who have been at it since 2008, working a sound that sits between alternative rock and something more experimental, with pop instincts running underneath. Signed to Infectious Music, they moved from Sunlit Youth in 2016 to Violet Street in 2019 and on to But I'll Wait for You in 2024, a stretch of records that has kept the band on the road rather than in reinvention.
They started in high school. Ryan Hahn, Taylor Rice, and Kelcey Ayer met while attending school in Orange County, California, added drummer Matt Frazier, and relocated to Silver Lake in Los Angeles, rehearsing there and building the collaborative writing approach that shaped their debut album.
"Wide Eyes" and "Dark Days" are both certified Gold in the United States, and the live résumé runs from Amoeba in Hollywood and LA Live in downtown Los Angeles to festival sets at SXSW, Lollapalooza, and FORM Arcosanti. A Gold-certified catalog and a festival-tested show make them a reliable booking for college programming boards, fair and festival lineups, corporate events, and private shows.
