Lord Huron is an indie folk and indie rock band on Iamsound Records, working in a sound that also pulls from psychedelic rock and folk pop. The project has been active since 2010, and its full-lengths trace a steady widening of that sound: Lonesome Dreams in 2013, Strange Trails in 2015, and Long Lost in 2021.
It started as one person's work. Ben Schneider, a singer-songwriter born in Michigan and a visual arts major, launched Lord Huron as a solo project, formed it in Los Angeles, and named it after Lake Huron, a place he visited as a child. The band grew out of that solo beginning rather than around it, which is why the records still feel authored rather than assembled.
Schneider handles guitar and lead vocals, joined by Mark Barry, Miguel Briseño, and Tom Renaud. The group's touring history runs through rooms like The Fillmore Miami Beach at The Jackie Gleason Theater, The St. Augustine Amphitheatre, and Hard Rock Live, making Lord Huron a strong fit for theaters and amphitheaters, festival and fair lineups, college events, and private engagements.
