Louis The Child is the Chicago duo of Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett, working across future bass, bass house, club and dance. The pair broke through with "It's Strange" in 2015, sharpened the sound on "Candy" in 2017, and arrived at the full-length "Here for Now" in 2020, followed the same year by "Candy II (Beat Tape)." They record for UMG.
They came up in the suburbs. Hauldren and Kennett both grew up in Winnetka, outside Chicago, and both had been pursuing music for several years on their own before they met as teenagers at a Madeon concert and started the project together. Louis The Child has been active since 2012.
Their live run covers festival stages and clubs alike, including Lollapalooza and Spring Awakening, plus dates at Marquee Nightclub, OMNIA Dayclub and Belly Up Aspen. That range makes the duo a practical fit for college events, festival and fair lineups, casino and nightclub bookings, corporate events and private shows.
