Lucas & Steve are Lucas de Wert and Steven Jansen, a Dutch duo who work the bright, melodic end of future house and dance music. Signed to Spinnin' Records, they have spent their career sharpening one instinct: put the hook first and let everything else serve it. You can hear the shift across their singles, from the club lift of "Feel Alive" in 2017 to the fuller songwriting of "Perfect" two years later, and by "Letters to Remember" in 2020 they were making dance records that hold together off the floor as well as on it. The catalog behind those titles runs more than two dozen deep.
It started in Maastricht. The two formed Lucas & Steve there in 2010 and have kept the project running ever since, well past the decade mark, which is the part of the story that matters most to a buyer: this is a working partnership with a long release history, not a single-season name. The output has stayed in the same lane long enough to build an audience that knows what a Lucas & Steve set sounds like.
The awards followed the records. They have taken an Edison Pop Award, a Buma Award and an MTV Award, and the live side has moved at the same scale, with festival appearances including Tomorrowland and Creamfields alongside club and theater dates such as SVN West.
