Maddox Batson is a country and country-pop singer-songwriter signed to Prosper Entertainment and Warner Records, with Southern rock sitting under the pop edges of his writing. "Tears in the River" and "I Wanna Know" both arrived in 2024 and did the work of introducing him to a country audience, and "First Dance" followed in 2025. He has been at this since 2023, which makes the pace of the last two years the most interesting thing about him.
He got there by singing other people's songs first. Batson built his early following posting covers of Zach Bryan and Red Clay Strays before he had singles of his own, then turned that audience toward his own material. Born in Nashville and raised in Alabama, he works out of Birmingham, close enough to the country establishment to be measured against it and far enough out to have come up on his own terms.
