Malachiii, born Malachi Cohen, is a Los Angeles artist who writes and produces his own music somewhere between Afrobeats, Afro house, pop and R&B. He introduced himself with The Ascension in 2022, kept the run going with Move in 2024, and landed BANG BANG in 2025. The genre labels stack up because he does not sit still inside any of them.
He came to music from the stage. Malachiii grew up in Southern California in an entertainment family, with a Broadway dancer for a mother and an actor for a father, and he was performing by around age 12. At 14 he was touring as a professional dancer. The writing and producing came after that, once he started making the records himself rather than moving to someone else's.
He records for Electric Feel Records, and the catalog reflects it: rhythm-forward songs built for rooms where people are already on their feet. That combination of dance-floor material and a performer who spent his teens touring as a dancer suits college programming, festival and fair lineups, corporate dates, casinos and private events.
