Matt Mathews is an American comedian who first drew a national audience during the pandemic, when his farm chore videos went viral. The music followed. In 2025 he released the singles "What a War" and "Joke's On Me," and a self-titled country album has been announced for the fall, built from material he wrote or co-wrote.
He is from Birmingham, Alabama, and he has never worked in only one lane: comedy, country and country/folk songwriting, and photography all sit under the same name. He records under that name too, which keeps the humor and the songs answering to the same person rather than to two separate acts.
In 2025 he brought the new record to a showcase performance at Ocean Way Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, pairing the stand-up instincts that built his following with the country material he has been writing. That combination travels well: a solo performer who can carry a comedy club set, a fair or festival stage, a college date, a corporate program, or a private engagement without changing who he is.
