Mau P is a Dutch producer working in house and techno, and his run started with a record that traveled further than most debuts do. "Drugs From Amsterdam" arrived in 2022 and AllMusic described it as award-winning. Reinier Zonneveld put his own remix on it the same year, the kind of endorsement that tends to follow a track dance floors have already decided about. The name is only a few years old. Before 2022 he worked as Maurice West, and Mau P is what he has been producing and playing under since, out of the Netherlands, in house and techno more or less exclusively. That focus is the point. A catalog that has grown past twenty entries in a short window belongs to someone who knows exactly which sound he is chasing.
The bookings have followed the same logic. He has played EXIT Festival, Gallagher Square at Petco Park, and Factory Town, rooms that reward a set built to move rather than one built to impress.
