Max McNown is an American country and country-pop singer-songwriter whose sound reaches into Americana and indie folk. His 2023 breakout single "A Lot More Free" went on to be certified Platinum, and his 2024 record Wandering was followed by the 2025 album Night Diving, which climbed into the Top 5 on the iTunes Country Albums chart. He came up the hard way. At 21, McNown left his Oregon hometown for Southern California, taught himself guitar, and busked there before "A Lot More Free" broke through. That single hit #1 on the TikTok Breakthrough USA chart, and McNown went on to top the Billboard Emerging Artists chart.
His credentials have followed fast. McNown has performed at the Grand Ole Opry, made his television debut on The Kelly Clarkson Show, and played the C2C Festival in the UK, with two sold-out nights booked at the Ryman Auditorium on his 2026 headlining tour.
