Megan Moroney is a country singer-songwriter signed to Sony Music Nashville's Columbia Records whose plainspoken, diary-style songwriting has made her one of the genre's fastest-rising headliners. Her 2023 debut Lucky went platinum and was named Rolling Stone's top country album of the year, and her 2024 follow-up Am I Okay? carried the five-times platinum single "Tennessee Orange," the breakout hit that helped define her as country's reigning emo cowgirl. Her third album, Cloud 9, released in February 2026, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, her first career chart topper and the first country album by a woman to top that chart since Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter.
She came up through Nashville the songwriter's way. Raised in Douglasville, Georgia, Moroney studied marketing at the University of Georgia while interning for Sugarland's Kristian Bush, who would go on to produce nearly all of her music. She moved to Nashville after graduating in 2020, wrote her way into a deal with Sony Music Nashville, and built her sound one lyric at a time before "Tennessee Orange" turned her into a breakout star.
Moroney has collaborated with Kenny Chesney, Ed Sheeran, Kacey Musgraves, and Old Dominion, and has become one of country music's most awarded young artists, winning the 2024 CMA New Artist of the Year, the 2024 ACM New Female Artist of the Year, and the first ever MTV VMA for Best Country in 2025. She is headlining The Cloud 9 Tour across arenas and amphitheaters in 2026 and has built a following among college audiences, festival crowds, and country radio listeners alike, making her one of the most in demand bookings in country music today for festivals, fairs, casinos, and private events.
