Myles Smith is a British singer-songwriter working in folk-pop, contemporary folk, and indie pop. He arrived with "Scars" in 2020, broke through with "Stargazing" in 2024, and followed it with "A Minute, A Moment..." in 2025, a run that took him from self-released beginnings to a Sony label roster in roughly five years.
He came up the long way. Born 3 June 1998 in Luton to a British-Jamaican family, Smith taught himself guitar at nine and was playing pubs by eleven, then local open-mic nights through his early teens. The audience that eventually found him came from TikTok covers, and RCA Records signed him on the strength of it.
The credentials followed quickly. Smith placed fourth in the BBC Sound of 2025 poll, and on 5 December 2024 he was announced as the recipient of the BRITs Rising Star Award for 2025, the prize formerly known as the Critics' Choice. He now works as a solo performer, carrying the songs on voice and guitar in rooms like Hard Rock Live, which makes him a straightforward fit for festival and fair lineups, college programming, corporate dates, and private engagements.
