Nelly Furtado is a Canadian artist whose music blends pop, hip-hop, and R&B. She built that distinctive sound early on, and her catalog runs from "All Good Things (Come to an End)" through "The Ride" in 2017 and up to "7" and the SG Lewis and Tove Lo collaboration "Love Bites" in 2024, released under UMG.
Furtado was born in Victoria, British Columbia, to Portuguese parents who had immigrated from the Azores in the late 1960s. She got her start after forming the trip-hop duo Nelstar with rapper Tallis Newkirk in 1995, and the folk and alternative-rock strains she picked up along the way still color her pop.
Her work has been widely recognized, including a Grammy Award from seven nominations, a Latin Grammy, ten Juno Awards, a BRIT Award, a Billboard Music Award, and an MTV Europe Music Award.
