NF is the recording name of Michigan rapper Nate Feuerstein, who works across rap, pop rap, and Christian hip-hop without planting himself in any one of them. Perception, released in 2017, pushed his confessional writing in front of a wide audience, and HOPE followed in 2023 after a run of albums, mixtapes, and singles that has grown into a long catalog.
He came up in Gladwin, Michigan. Feuerstein was born on March 30, 1991, the oldest of three children, and the plainspoken, first-person register of his records has stayed close to that starting point rather than drifting toward the polish the genre usually rewards.
His work has been recognized inside gospel and Christian music as well as in rap. Therapy Session took the Dove Award for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year in 2016, and Oh Lord! won Rap/Hip-Hop Recorded Song of the Year in 2017.
