Nicky Romero is one of the producers who defined the big-room festival sound of the 2010s. His collaboration with Avicii, "I Could Be the One," debuted at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart in 2013, and "Toulouse," "Symphonica" and "Legacy" with Krewella all became Beatport chart-toppers. He broke into DJ Mag's Top 100 at No. 17 in 2012, winning Highest New Entry, and climbed to No. 7 the following year.
He built his own platform early. Born Nick Rotteveel in Amerongen in the Netherlands, Romero founded Protocol Recordings in 2012, which became a home for rising producers and scored internationally with "Like Home" with NERVO. He has also co-produced for David Guetta and shared an Ibiza residency with him.
Romero has headlined the biggest dance stages in the world, including Tomorrowland, Ultra Miami, EDC Mexico and Amsterdam Dance Event, along with clubs like Washington, D.C.'s Echostage. His peak-time sets make him a strong fit for festival lineups, college events, corporate dates, casinos and private engagements.
