Night Tapes make dream pop out of London, with electronic production, trip hop and chillwave sitting under the melodies. The group was already recording under the name by 2019, the year of Dream Forever in Glorious Stereo, and the catalog has grown steadily since: Assisted memories arrived in 2024, and portals//polarities followed in 2025, with Nettwerk behind them.
The name is literal. Night Tapes started as evening jam sessions between London housemates Max Doohan and Sam Richards and Estonian singer Iiris Vesik, who recorded onto tape after dark in their South-East London bedrooms. That bedroom-tape origin is still audible in the finished records, and it explains why a band with a large discography sounds this unhurried.
The wider circuit caught up in 2025, when Night Tapes took the Music Moves Europe Award at ESNS that January. They have also played SXSW in Austin and Iceland Airwaves, festival stages that reward a live act built on atmosphere rather than volume. For buyers, that makes them a strong fit for college shows, festival and fair lineups, corporate events and private engagements looking for a headline-quality set with room to breathe.
