Nine Days is an alternative rock and pop rock band out of New York, built around the two-songwriter core of John Hampson and Brian Desveaux. Their major-label debut, The Madding Crowd, arrived on Epic/550 Music in 2000 and was certified gold in the United States, propelled by "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)". So Happily Unsatisfied followed in 2002, and the band was still making records a decade later with Something Out Of Nothing in 2012.
They earned that debut the long way. Hampson and Desveaux had played together in local groups on Long Island before forming Nine Days there in 1994, putting out independent albums and winning regional talent contests in the years before Sony came calling. Both men sing lead, and both play guitar, which is why the catalog carries two distinct voices rather than one frontman and a backing band.
Jeremy Dean on keyboards and backing vocals and Nick Dimichino on bass and backing vocals fill out the group's live sound. Nine Days has been an active band since 1994, with recent dates running from the Paradise Rock Club to smaller rooms like The Back Room, which makes them a practical fit for college programming, fair and festival lineups, corporate dates, casinos and private events.
