NoCap is an American rapper working in trap and Southern hip-hop, and he has spent the last several years building one of the deeper catalogs in the lane. Steel Human arrived in 2020, Mr. Crawford, titled after the surname he was born with, followed in 2022, and Before I Disappear Again came in 2024, with more than three dozen other entries filling in around them. He records under WMG.
He came to it early. NoCap first started rapping at around eight or nine years old, under the guidance of his mother's boyfriend, and returned to it in 2017, the year he began treating music as the job. That second start produced early songs like "Boss Move" and the debut mixtape Neighborhood Hero, and the pace has not let up since.
Kobe Vidal Crawford Jr. runs the project alone, with no group behind the name. On the road he has worked across the full range of room sizes, from The Midland Theatre to arena stages at Chartway Arena and Gainbridge Fieldhouse, which makes him a flexible live booking for college programming, festival lineups, casino dates and private events.
