Noisia is a drum and bass trio from Groningen whose work sits at the dark, technically detailed end of the style, with side routes into neurofunk and dubstep. Split the Atom (2010) laid out that approach at album length, and Outer Edges (2016) took it further into rhythm and sound design. In between, the group scored DmC: Devil May Cry in 2013, a job that suited producers who treat texture and impact as the point.
They started early. The three formed in the early 2000s and began experimenting with production while still in school, active as Noisia since 2002 and building the sound over years rather than arriving with it finished.
Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger have run their own labels in Vision, Division and Invisible Recordings, and have also released through mau5trap. The Drum & Bass Arena Awards named them Best Producers in 2014, 2015 and 2016, with Best Live Act in 2015 and Best Album for Outer Edges in 2016. They have played shows worldwide at drum and bass and electronic music events, which makes them a strong fit for festival stages, club nights, college programming, corporate events and private engagements.
