Oneohtrix Point Never is the recording name of Daniel Lopatin, an electronic musician who works with ambient, drone and glitch the way other writers work with verses and choruses, bending them until they hold the shape of art pop. Warp Records has carried that project through its most ambitious stretch, from Magic Oneohtrix Point Never in 2020 to Again in 2023 and Tranquilizer in 2025, a run that keeps the experimental instinct intact while arranging it into records people follow start to finish.
The project has only ever needed one person. Lopatin, out of Wayland, is its sole constant member, and that single point of authorship is why the music can move between abstraction and melody without ever sounding like a committee decision. What arrives on stage is one composer's set of ideas, presented on his terms.
Those terms travel well.
