Patrick Watson is a singer-songwriter, pianist, and bandleader working across indie rock, pop rock, and chamber pop. His 2006 album Close to Paradise won the Polaris Music Prize in 2007, and the records that followed kept the same band-led approach: Wooden Arms in 2009, then Love Songs for Robots in 2015, part of a catalog that now runs to nearly forty releases.

He came to Quebec young. Born in Lancaster, California on October 8, 1979, Watson was raised in Hudson, Quebec, and built his career in Montreal's indie music scene, where he has been active since the early 2000s.

Watson records under his own Watsonia Productions Inc. and is associated with Domino Publishing as a songwriter and composer. The group around him includes Andrew Barr, Robert Kuster, Mikhail Stein, and Joe Grass. He has appeared as a featured artist at Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, Tennessee, and the touring history takes in halls such as Cirque Royal, 013 Main Hall, and La Laiterie. That combination of songwriting credentials and a seated-room touring record makes him a fit for festival lineups, college programming, performing arts center calendars, and private engagements.
