Paul Van Dyk is a trance DJ and producer whose catalog also moves through progressive house, progressive trance, and techno. Music Rescues Me in 2018 pushed the sound toward something warmer and more song-shaped, and This World Is Ours in 2025 shows he is still adding to the record rather than touring an old one. His releases have run through Mute Records, Ministry of Sound, and Armada Music.
He came out of Eisenhüttenstadt and eventually stopped waiting for a label to say yes. In 2000 he founded VANDIT Records and made his own album, Out There and Back, its first release, which put the catalog and the company on the same footing from day one.
Before and alongside the solo work he has recorded as part of The Visions of Shiva, DJ's United, and DFM. The shelf backs it up: a Grammy Award, 10 International Dance Music Awards, and 18 Trance Awards. His festival work includes SHINE Ibiza, and his stage history runs from Muffatwerk to Maschpark and Bruno-Plache-Stadion, the kind of range that fits festival and fair lineups, college programming, casino calendars, and private events.
