Paulina Rubio is a Mexican pop artist from Ciudad de México whose catalog runs through dance-pop, cumbia, and Latin arena rock. Gran City Pop (2009) and Brava! (2011) arrived two years apart and kept her in the big-room end of Latin pop, and Deseo (2018) extended a recording career that now spans more than two dozen releases.
She started young. Rubio grew up as the daughter of Mexican film star Susana Dosamantes, and after early recording experiences she joined the Mexican pop group Timbiriche in 1982, learning the stage as part of a group before building a name of her own.
That long run has brought Billboard Latin Music Award nominations and MTV Awards nominations, along with festival stages including the Viña del Mar International Song Festival and Festival de la Calle 8. She has also played rooms on the scale of Movistar Arena, and that arena-tested show travels well to fairs, festivals, casinos, college events, and private engagements.
