Phantom Planet is a Los Angeles rock band that never picked a lane and never needed to. Signed to Epic Records, the group built a catalog that runs from the alternative rock of The Guest in 2002 through a self-titled record two years later and out to Raise the Dead in 2008, with more than two dozen releases in total. The indie rock and the pop in their sound keep trading places, which is why the band reads as an alternative act on one song and a straight rock act on the next.
