Phoenix have been making alternative rock and indie pop out of France since 1999. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, released in 2009, won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album the following year, one of two Grammy nominations the band has picked up. Ti Amo in 2017 and Alpha Zulu in 2022 continued a catalog that labels including Source, Virgin Records and Loyauté have carried.
They started small. Phoenix formed in Versailles, where childhood friends began playing music together, and the band took shape as a garage act working out of Thomas Mars' house in the suburbs of Paris.
That same circle still makes up the group: Thomas Mars, Laurent Brancowitz, Christian Mazzalai and Deck d'Arcy. More than two decades into the work, with a Grammy and a catalog deep enough to build a set from any era of it, Phoenix are a strong fit for festival and fair lineups, college programming, corporate events and private engagements.
